Numerous senior-level officials of the Brussels, Belgium-based European Commission and European Council are firm in their position that the statement by Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine (2019-2024; term extended due to imposition of martial law in 2022), threatening to facilitate the murder of Viktor Orban, Prime Minister of Hungary (1998-2022 and 2014- ), has undermined unnecessarily and substantially the standing of President Zelensky and the government of Ukraine when both can least afford it.
