The Cracked Windshield Perspective From The Kremlin

The Cracked Windshield Perspective From The Kremlin

A senior-level official within the government of the Russian Federation offered a perspective embraced by colleagues and who also work in Moscow within the walls of the Kremlin.

The perspective relates to the future for commercial, economic, financial, military, political, and societal relationships within and among the twenty-seven country members of the Brussels, Belgium-based European Union (EU), the thirty-two country members of the Brussels, Belgium-based North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the one hundred ninety-three members of the New York, New York-based United Nations (UN), and the many regional groupings.

  • EU: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden.

  • NATO: United States, United Kingdom, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Albania, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Croatia, Czech Republic, Poland, Estonia, Romania, Germany, Slovakia, Greece, Slovenia, Hungary, Spain, Turkiye, Latvia, and North Macedonia, Sweden.

  • Twenty-three members of NATO are also members of the EU: Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden

What will be the impact upon bilateral and multilateral relationships resulting from the Russian Federation-Ukraine War, the State of Israel-United States-Iran War, the State of Israel-Gaza (Palestine Territory) War, Syria Civil War, Trump-Vance Administration decisions relating to the Republic of Cuba and Venezuela, and Trump-Vance Administration bilateral and multilateral decisions.

From our vantage point, what is happening politically outside of our borders resembles a cracked windshield.

Once the first tiny crack appears, it spreads.

There is little to be done but watch the crack go in directions unanticipated, uncontrolled, and unstoppable.

Eventually, the windshield needs to be replaced.

We believe when the replacement windshield becomes necessary, we will be there to install it.

We will have influence.

What we do not know is how much time will the vehicle be driven with that cracked windshield.”
