Ukrainian Railways Flagship Train With Flagship Service And An Unsettling, But Critical Warning From The Conductor To Each Passenger
Unsurprisingly, Ukrainian Railways train 105 Flagship Service departs as scheduled at 22:08 from Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi Station for its eight hour and forty-five-minute journey arriving at 06:53 to Odesa-Holovna Station.
Each passenger is welcomed by their respective carriage conductor (провідник вагона), male or female, smartly attired in blue woolen coats and caps. Employees of Ukrainian Railways (Public JSC Ukrainian Railways or PAT ‘Ukrzaliznytsia’) are affectionately and respectfully referred to as “Iron People” (Залізні люди) given how they maintain their 24/7 responsibilities, particularly during the Russian Federation-Ukraine War (2014- ).
Approximately fifteen minutes into the journey, the carriage conductor visits each compartment to offer tea (чай) and a warning, which he shares using his Google translation feature on his cellular device: “If the train is attacked by a Shahed Drone, then passengers will need to evacuate the train. Do you understand?”
The Shahed Drone was designed in the Islamic Republic of Iran and provided to the armed forces of the Russian Federation.

“What should I do if there is a risk of a hostile attack while traveling?
Updated on 02.10.2026
Due to martial law, all conductors have received special training on what to do in the event of a hostile attack. The conductor will let you know about a potential threat during the trip. Please follow the conductor's instructions and save the safety guidelines for future reference. They can help protect you and your loved ones.”
