On 19 February 2026, the Trump-Vance Administration (2025-2029) created of the “Board of Peace” will host its inaugural gathering in Washington DC at the Donald J. Trump U.S. Institute of Peace.
The United States Institute of Peace (USIP) was created in 1984 through legislation enacted by the United States Congress and then signed into law by Ronald Reagan, President of the United States (1981-1989).
In February 2025, Donald Trump, President of the United States (2017-2021, 2025-2029), signed an executive order to dismantle the USIP. In December 2025, President Trump ordered his name affixed to the reconstituted and renamed entity.
Ramadan is observed by Muslims (followers of Islam) from the evening of 17 February 2026 to 19 March 2026 for communal prayer (salah), community. fasting (sawm), and reflection.
Not a problem for Steven Witkoff, Assistant to the President, Senior Advisor, and Special Envoy (2025- ) of the Trump-Vance Administration, and Jared Kushner, a son-in-law of President Trump, who are both Jewish, to participate in Board of Peace events on full stomachs.
According to a senior official within the Trump-Vance Administration, the scheduling decision was not coincidental. It was, in part, designed to project coercion- regardless of the religious impact of the date. Invited officials will attend less they incur the wrath of the President of the United States.
The political bank-shot: President Trump is reinforcing the lack of respect he has for Muslims (followers of Islam). If they have money, he respects them. If they give him money, he respects them more.
That the government of the State of Israel is participating in the Board of Peace is appalling. The government of the State of Israel is responsible for the death and destruction delivered by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) throughout the territory of Gaza.
And now a representative of the government of the State of Israel will be seated among representatives of countries majority Muslim populations… and with an extended hand prepared to receive funds to pay for the reconstruction of the destruction caused by the IDF beginning on 7 October 2023 and continuing to the present day.
Instructive knowing President Trump is seeking funding for the reconstruction of the territory of Gaza primarily, nearly exclusively, from Muslim-majority countries.
President Trump has embraced the tools of Cosa Nostra (Our Thing) to extort both political genuflection and monetary reward from heads of state and heads of government.
Surprising President Trump did not use the time-honed marketing strategy of opting a customer into a commitment until they specifically opted-out of a commitment.
Basically, President Trump would reject the argument that any country would not want to participate in the Board of Peace and have their taxpayers fund the US$1 billion membership fee (to which President Trump, his family (think Kushner), and his friends (think Witkoff) would have no impediment to directing for personal gain) which may be allocated for other than the reconstruction of the territory of Gaza.
Given the extortion tactics deployed by The White House, surprising President Trump did not attempt to obtain country funding through their central bank accounts held at the New York Federal Reserve Bank which “provides services to foreign official and international institutions that facilitate the execution of public-sector mandates such as foreign reserves management, international relief and assistance, and financial stability. There are over 200 account holders maintaining more than 550 deposit and custody accounts at the New York Fed. Foreign central banks and monetary authorities hold the vast majority of these accounts, with international and regional organizations, foreign governments, and specialized accounts comprising the remainder.”
Coincidentally, of the nineteen countries initially joining the Board of Peace, approximately fifty percent are countries upon which the Trump-Vance Administration has imposed sanctions, tariffs, and visa restrictions.
From 12:00 pm on 20 January 2029, the Trump-Vance Administration will end. And so too will its ability to use sanctions, tariffs, and travel visas as diplomatic weapons.
Former President Trump will likely seek to retain the use of the Boeing 747-800 aircraft gifted by the State of Qatar to the taxpayers of the United States. He, hie family, and his friends will likely seek to continue to benefit financially from whatever monies have been deposited into Board of Peace accounts.
A good legacy investment for taxpayers in Muslim countries?

The government of the Russian Federation did indicate that US$1 billion from Central Bank of the Russian Federation funds frozen by the United States government since 24 February 2022 may be used as its payment for a permanent seat on the board of directors of the Board of Peace.
